Neighbourhood Watch

I had been a Neighbourhood Watch street co-ordinator for a number of years before the internet arrived. After ten years about half of my neighbours were connected and I wanted to build a simple website to pass small items of information around without having to do a manual post-drop to every house every time. This meant that for those with the internet I could provide a lot more with little extra effort

We also run a number of events over the course of a year, these are fairly low key but it does mean that everyone knows everyone else, in particular the older members of the community are not left out at Christmas and other times. What has come about since we started, well most people know one anothers names, summer plant watering is also not a problem.

ActivityForum gives me all these tools at a modest cost which is met from a street entertainment budget (yes we really are that organised). Along with the local website came the neighbourhood network.
